ASC and Kamp programs encourage children's growth and development in several areas. Some curriculum objectives for children include:

Emotional

  • Acquire a positive self-image
  • Become independent
  • Identify and communicate feelings
  • Respond to new challenges
  • Accept reasonable authority and limitations

Physical

  • Develop fine and gross motor skill through use of materials and activities

Social

  • Cooperate in a group setting
  • Maintain & develop relationships with peers and staff

Intellectual

  • Develop thinking skills
  • Study and complete homework and receive assistance if needed

Creative

  • Explore and observe the world by free choices and planned activities
  • Develop self-expression, feelings, and creativity with various activities
    such as fine art and performing art projects

Spiritual

  • Learn about values, character, and regard for self and others

Licensure and Certification
ASC and Summer Kids' Kamp Programs are licensed by the Texas Department of Family & Protective Services. All staff and counselors participate in yearly staff training and professional development offered by the Houston Area Association for the Education of Young Children (HAAEYC). All of our counselors are trained and certified in CPR and First-Aid.
